Meeting Schedule Information
The purpose of a school board meeting is to conduct the
business of the district. A school board is a governmental body. It can take
action only by a majority vote at a meeting. It is important to understand that
a board member has no authority as an individual; however, the board may
occasionally delegate authority to a board officer.
A board of education
functions in three distinct settings: the Regular Meeting, the Special Meeting,
and the Executive Session. Board meetings are open to the public, with the
exception of the Executive Sessions.
