1. Today is an A day & the third day of Red Ribbon Week.
5,000 people under the age of 21 die each year in injuries related to drunk driving in the US.
More than 40% of people who begin drinking before the age of 15, eventually become alcoholics.
A baby who was exposed to heroin in his or her mother's womb can be born physically addicted to the drug.
Tomorrow is Throwback Thursday 
Today is also Unity Day – We are wearing orange to show our support and unite against bullying 

2. Builder’s Club is meeting on Wednesday & Friday this week – they need all hands on deck!

3. Girls’ 7th & 8th grade Soccer has games against Mineola today- 7th grade is home.   Good Luck Glen Cove!
4. The National Jr. Honor Society will be having a bake sale, after school, in the cafeteria all week.  They are raising money for breast cancer awareness.  They will be selling baked goods and bracelets.  Everything is $1

5. For the rest of this month Student Council is hosting a Holiday Food Drive to help needy families in our community.  Student Council is asking you to donate non-perishable items and/or canned foods. Please drop them off to Ms. Luke in guidance and help make a difference this holiday season.   Thank you again for your support!

6. The 6th graders will have an assembly tomorrow.  The Frisch Team will be going 2nd period and the McGrath Team will be going 3rd period.  You must report to class for attendance, then your teacher will bring you to the auditorium.

7. This Friday is our PTA Halloween Dance from 6:30-8:30.  If you don’t have a contract, come down to the main office and pick one up.  The contract must be signed by a parent and used as your ticket to get into the dance.  You may come in costume if you wish.

8. Red Ribbon Week Grade-Level Assemblies will take place on Friday as follows.  (You must report to class for attendance first):
4th period: 6th grade 5th period: 8th grade 6th period: 7th grade

9. Attention all 8th graders, your baby pictures are needed for the yearbook. Please provide an original picture with your first name, last name and homeroom number on the back to Mrs. McLoughlin. 
You can also email your picture with your full name and homeroom # in the subject of the email.  Please have all pictures in by November 1st.

10.  Want to hang out in our awesome new rec room and courtyard at lunch? Earn 20 red PBIS tickets and you can sign up for a spot with Mrs. DiPaolo in the library before homeroom everyday starting next week.
